History/Geography-Journeyman

The Woman's March on Versailles was basically a march led by the market women on October 5 1789 during the French revolution.
They were tired of the high prices and need for bread.
The mob grew to thousands. They ransacked the the city armory and made their way to the palace.
Full of force, vengeance, and revenge, they besieged the palace and fiercely made known their wants to the kind (Louis XVI).
The next day they forced the king and his family to go back with them to Paris.
This event helped end Royal authority and kindled a fire of Independence in the hearts of the people.
The march represented a new Balance of power.
The French were making it known to the world that they would now stand on their own two feet and do what it took to get rid of the power of French nobility.
